“Comfort Women” Justice Coalition (CWJC) has become aware that an individual identifying as “Genna Yu” has circulated a letter to organizations in Japan claiming to represent CWJC. We have also been made aware of related communications associated with individuals identifying as “Eri Yamamoto” and “Kang Ji-young.”
CWJC does not know these individuals. They are not authorized to speak, write, organize, solicit signatures, contact other organizations, or otherwise act on behalf of CWJC.
CWJC did not draft, approve, authorize, or send these letters or related communications. Any statement, request, or campaign communication issued under CWJC’s name without direct confirmation from CWJC is not an official communication from our organization.

We are taking steps to notify relevant organizations and clarify that CWJC was not involved in these communications. We take the unauthorized use of our name seriously, especially because our work depends on trust, transparency, consent, and accountability among survivors, community members, and partner organizations.
For official CWJC communications, please rely only on our verified channels. If you receive any message claiming to represent CWJC and have questions about its authenticity, please contact us directly before taking any action.
